Luca Weste graduated with highest honors (110 cum laude) from the Faculty of Design and Art at the Free University of Bozen/Bolzano, with the thesis Pubblica Decorazione — Living under the Bridge between Degradation and Decorum. Between 2023 and 2024 he worked at Corraini Edizioni in Milan, focusing on editorial design, exhibition design, and photography.
                He later completed the two-year Master's in Information Design at Design Academy Eindhoven (2026), graduating with the installation Grounding 1359 — Squatting the AM Ether, accompanied by the written thesis Waves of Resistance — Pirate Radio, Tactics of Autonomy, and the Politics of the AM Ether.
                His practice spans graphic and editorial design, photography, and spatial installations. Field research is central to his methodology: projects develop through long-term engagement with people, places, and communities rather than desk-based research alone. He is particularly interested in learning from vernacular forms of making, communication, and self-organization, exploring how everyday practices can suggest alternative ways of designing.
                His recent work focuses on autonomous media, reclaimed infrastructures, and grassroots initiatives that create spaces of collective care and communication outside dominant institutional and platform logics. Rather than treating these realities as subjects to represent, he approaches them as opportunities for dialogue, collaboration, and mutual learning.
